Food Banks
As the effects of the pandemic begin to lessen the importance of food banks increases as more families find themselves in never before experienced conditions of food poverty.
National agencies tell us that this problem is growing – and not only in poorer areas. If you know someone who is in difficulties and would welcome help, they can talk confidentially to a trained Citizens Advice adviser on 0808 208 2138 for free (open Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm) and if an emergency food parcel is needed a food bank voucher is issued.
I have spoken to many kind local people who say they are getting into the habit of buying an extra item or two for the Food Bank whenever they pop into the supermarkets or other businesses that collect donations. Thank you.
